This song is actually  very different style-wise then most of his songs.  You didn't know it, but Jason does the best with what he has. He doesn't have hardly any recording equipment and if you saw what he has, you would be amazed at what he has produced. We can't record in your recording studio because we live  8 hours away and don't have the money. Believe me, Jason is not the kind of person to make himself out to be a big star. Listen to the lyrics in his songs.  They come from his heart. They show who he is. The problem with your criticism is that you didn't explain the details of what you were talking about. Also, when giving criticism it is important to also give encouragement. Imagine what it would be like if someone said the same thing to you about a song you worked really hard on to make  sound authentic though you didn't have the resources.
