Welcome to the BeatDown (New Song)

You’re gonna either love or hate this one… ;)

My friend Simon Gugala wrote this recently with his cousin Chris, and they needed some hardcore vocals for the song. Hardcore vocals they got, probably more than they expected. I pushed my voice harder than ever. Believe it or not, I think it sounds pretty amazing. I’d love to know what you think.

The song is credited to Simon Gugala with guitars by Chris Gugala.

Lyrics are after the jump.

Lyrics:
This is the time
This is the place
We are the young and the unafraid

We’ll make you break
We’ll make you bleed
You won’t believe what you’re about to see

Welcome to the BeatDown
Welcome to the BeatDown

Nowhere to run
Nowhere to hide
Watch your back ’cause you’re in for a fight

Your heart is racing but you
Can’t get away
Here I come like a hurricane

Welcome to the BeatDown
Welcome to the BeatDown

Your heart is racing but you can’t get away
And your mother’s gonna hate me for the rest of her days
Cause I’m coming at you like a hurricane
Gonna rip you limb from limb until you’re screaming her name

Welcome to the BeatDown
Welcome to the BeatDown

Whoa, Dude! You could go toe-to-toe with any head-bangin’, long-haired, metalist, that’s for sure! Perhaps you could alter the lyrics to make a Theme Song for LaunchBox. Welcome to-ou LaunchBox, welcome to-ou LaunchBox. Are you one of those Karaoke “ringers” – ya act like ya can’t sing, then ya win the contest with an amazing final performance? Hahaha!

Just heard it for the first time on “LaunchBox”, and I had to go find out who sang this song! I’m a music collector for over 30 years, and when I hear a good song, I must know the title and author! So finally, my search led me here.
Well, what can I say about this song? Loved it, the first time I heard it, and not many songs can I say that about, on my first of hearing it! Heavy, nice and heavy! Don’t get upset, but it reminded me of “Black Label Society, and that’s a group I fell in love with too, when I first heard them.
Well, bring on more of that good stuff, I’d look forward to hearing more!
