Are You Addicted to “Hopium”?

Hope is such a wonderful thing…until it gets tweaked into something that creates a path of wreckage instead of healing.

What does your relationship with hope look like?

Recently, the Lord convicted me about something called “hopium” — a counterfeit version of biblical hope that can become a form of escapism, pride, or even idolatry.

In this video, we explore the difference between worldly optimism, “hopium”, and the genuine hope that God calls us to have through Jesus.

We’ll answer three critical questions:

  • What should Christians actually hope for?
  • How do we receive biblical hope?
  • How do we live according to the hope we’ve been given?

Using passages from 1 Peter, Romans, and personal testimony, we’ll look at how God transforms false hope into living hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Scripture references:

  • 1 Peter 1:3-5
  • Romans 15:13
  • John 3:16
  • Matthew 6:33

May the Lord strengthen your hope, deepen your trust, and draw you closer to Him.
