Ain’t strong enough to succeed on my own
I’m so grateful for all
The freedom in my soul

All these people are working as hard as they can
All trying to be the best
All working for the man

And I wonder how they do it
Must feel like hell to never get
To the ending that they’ve planned

That’s the lie that they were sold

But I’ve been so blessed because I’m yours

Life is certainly easier for some people

Downtrodden, broken, and deceitful
